Prof. Chan Siew Hwa
Nanyang Technology University, Singapore

Title of Speech: Electrolyzer/Fuel Cell: A bridge towards a more sustainable future

Dr. Chan joined NTU as a Lecturer in 1991 after obtaining his PhD and subsequently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London. He is now a Professor in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Prof. Chan is a Director of Maz Energy Pte Ltd, where he provides technical advices to the Board since 2004. He is also a Director of a start-up company Xplore Energy, with major product development in Hydrogen-on-Demand system. (read more)

Title of Speech:Factors Affecting the Sizing of Generators and Storages in a Stand-Alone Hybrid Renewable Energy System


Professor Tek Tjing Lie is Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) school of Engineering. He received his BS degree from the Oklahoma State University, MS and PhD degrees from Michigan State University. His research interests are in the fields of Power System Operation and Control, Deregulated Electrical Power Markets, Renewable Energy and Smart Grids. (read more)

 

Prof. Ryuichi Yokoyama
Waseda University, Japan

Title of Speech: Resilient and Expandable Distribution Network for Smart Community in Asian Countries and Islands

Ryuichi Yokoyama received the degrees of B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1968, 1970, and 1974 respectively. After working in Mitsubishi Research Institute, from 1978 through 2007, he was a professor in the Faculty of Technology of Tokyo Metropolitan University. Since 2007, he had been a professor of the Graduate School of Environment and Energy Engineering in Waseda University. His fields of interests include planning, operation, control and optimization of large-scale environment and energy systems, and economic analysis and risk management of deregulated power markets. Now, he is a Professor Emeritus of Waseda University, a Life Fellow of IEEE, a Senior Life Member of IEE of Japan, a member of CIGRE. He is also Chairmen of Standardization Commissions of Electric Apparatus in METI Japan. He is a President of Consortium of Power System Technology of Japan and CEO of the Energy and Environment Technology Research Institute. (read more)
